Right in the Nerds

The nerds are coming for you this week with a discussion of the Romero film that started a zombie craze that still has yet to fade. With both figurative and literal biting commentary on contemporary issues, Night of the Living Dead was a horror movie well ahead of its time. 

The horror franchise that gave us the magnificent Ashley Williams is up for discussion today. We throw some love towards Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi in this amazing series that blends both horror and some good slapstick comedy. Join us for the beginning of a month of topics relating to horror as we dive into October and the spooky season. 

This week we take on the Watchmen! Both the comic and the HBO series. The film is largely left out due to the series following the continuity of the comic. We take the best parts of the series the characters, the driving forces behind these characters, the complexities of Dr. Manhattan's existence. All is on display this week as we take a deep dive into the lore and characters of Watchmen. 

We get into a beginning discussion of the boy who lived. Specifically the book series all the way up to Prisoner of Azkaban. Everything from the rich lore to fleshed out characters are on the table as we discuss the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Grab a butterbeer and come join us for some witchcraft. 

Letterkenny is a brilliant Canadian shows that also reminds us of growing up rural just about anywhere. The only differences come from the words used and a lack of Ontario dialect. The hicks, skids, hockey players, and degens are all up for discussion in this episode. So pitter patter lets get at 'er and come join us for a great discussion of what makes this show so amusing. 

DC Fandome is the topic this week. A lot of good announcements came from the virtual event and scratched the itch that many of us have been missing from having no convention season due to current events. Come and join us as we take on a cel-shaded mad max, dystopian, corporate controlled universe where there ain't no rest for the wicked. 

Come and take a listen as the nerds get together to discuss Robocop. The original films, the multiple tv series, and the reboot are all on the table. They go into the heavy themes and satire present in the original to the ideas that the reboot didn't quite see through to their conclusion. As per usual a little bit of speculation is done about Robocop Returns the installment that is supposed to act as a direct sequel to the original film while ignoring Robocop 2 and 3.
